Epworth Scale

The Epworth Sleepiness Scale is a standard test widely used throughout the medical industry to indicate sleep deprivation. Using a scale of 0-3 as given below, rate your likeliness to fall asleep during normal circumstances for each of the presented senarios.

 

0 = no chance of dozing
1 = slight chance of dozing
2 = moderate chance of dozing
3 = high chance of dozing

Sitting and reading
Watching Television
Sitting inactive in a public place
Sitting as a car passenger for an hour without a break
Lying down to rest in the afternoon
Sitting and talking to someone
Sitting quietly after a lunch without alcohol
In a car, while stopped for a few minutes in traffic

Total Epworth Score:

Any score over 10 is considered abnormal.If you score more than 10 you should contact your primary care physician with your results, or contact SleepWorks to schedule an appointment with a Sleep Specialist in your area.
